About Hendrik Bührmann

I have dedicated my life to golf, both as a player and as a coach. My journey began at the age of 16, and within just two years, I became a scratch golfer. From there, my love for the game propelled me to the pinnacle of amateur golf in South Africa, where I won the Free State Open three times and became the number one amateur in South Africa.

In 1985, I turned professional and embarked on a career that took me around the globe. I have competed at the highest levels, from the Sunshine Tour in South Africa to the Asian Tour, the European Tour, and the Canadian Tour. My professional highlights include winning 9 titles, battling the likes of Ernie Els down the stretch to claim the Wild Coast Classic, and triumphing at the Aamby Valley Asian Masters in India.

I have also had the honor of representing South Africa on the world stage. In 1995, I partnered with Retief Goosen in the World Cup and holed the winning putt in the Dunhill Challenge (a year later it became the President’s Cup), a moment I cherish as a highlight of my career.

Major Championships: Competed in the Open Championship (1992), Senior Open Championship (2013), Senior US Open Championship (2014) made all the cut’s.

Beyond my achievements as a player, I have also been deeply involved in the leadership and development of the sport. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Sunshine Tour since 1997 and played a key role in restructuring the Asian Tour, helping shape it into the competitive and prestigious circuit it is today.

Coaching is my true passion. I find immense satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals on the golf course. Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching some of South Africa’s finest golfers.
